Computer
Based Training
The On Line Computer Based Training program offers
a comprehensive curriculum for poi dancers of all levels. The
information is broken up into small sections that progressively
build on each other. Each section has as many as 50 video clips
available to describe the move as well as audio instructions.
In addition, there is text with links to the relevant movies throughout
which guide the student through the learning process.
Each video clip you select is downloaded as you
go. Because the lesson plans offer modular videos, you only download
what you need rather than wasting time downloading what you don't.
Also, after you select all the videos you want, you can disconnect
your laptop from the internet and move to a location with more
space if that is necessary.
This material has been used to train over 500 (and
growing!) poi artists in North America and is modeled after the
in person classes offered through the Temple of Poi. Because of
our 2+ years of full time training, we are also able to include
a section with trouble shooting tips and common problems designed
to anticipate common learning challenges students encounter.
